beauty in the everyday
Here’s what I believe: that beauty, peace, calm, and contentment can be found in the most everyday situations and places.
Maybe you’re on the couch, with a cat on your lap and a book in your hands. Or perhaps you’re sitting on your front porch or in your back yard, admiring the way the sunlight filters through the trees. Quiet spaces and alone time — or, better yet, “alone” time with pets.
You and I? We actively seek out peace and calm in the midst of every single crazy-busy day. Because taking the time — even briefly — to acknowledge and celebrate these peaceful moments helps keep us centered, balanced, and grounded.
You probably know that the mere act of going for a walk in nature offers chattery minds a soothing break. But did you know that even looking at images of these peaceful scenes offers your mind the same sort of rest?
We know this is true for images of nature, but I would propose that it’s also true for images of that other place where we often feel the most peaceful and contented.
